Once in the bloodstream, Stanozolol has a half-life of approximately 9 hours (Kicman, 2008). This means that it takes 9 hours for half of the substance to be eliminated from the body. One example is the case of Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson, who was stripped of his gold medal at the 1988 Olympics after testing positive for Stanozolol (Kicman, 2008). This incident shed light on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports and sparked stricter drug testing protocols.

Another example is the case of bodybuilder Rich Piana, who openly admitted to using Stanozolol and other steroids throughout his career. Piana tragically passed away in 2017 at the age of 46, and while the exact cause of death is unknown, his extensive use of performance-enhancing drugs is believed to have played a role (Henderson, 2017).
